The Peabody Education Council marked its 25th anniversary with a birthday party at the Peabody Learning Academy on April 14. Supporters were treated to snacks and cake prepared by students in the Peabody Vocational High School culinary arts program.
Students from the PVMHS Chorus also performed the near 50 guests, including business supporters, school committee and city council members, principals, teachers and administrators.
PEC President Dave Gravel gave an overview of PEC plans for the future, including an effort to make the PEC a 503-C, non-profit organization. The PEC’S Partners in Education (PIE) program was also highlighted. PIE, an initiative to bring “Smart Cart” technology first to the Higgins Middle School and then to other city schools, is seeking corporate donations to fund purchases.
